More Info on Point Cloud Processing
Point Cloud Data Processing
(3D PCL) Point Clouds are not directly operational in most 3D applications. The conversion are usually converted to NURBS surface models, polygon mesh, triangle mesh or CAD models a process commonly referred to as reverse engineering.
Point Clouds is a process of which data is collected by a 3D scanner. These devices measure a large number of points on an object’s surface, and often output a point cloud as a data file. The point cloud represents the set of points that the device has measured. X2 Metrology™ has the ability to process scan data when software capabilities are outdated.
